In her address to the sixty-first session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa, Dr Margaret Chan, WHO's Director-General, underscored the need to tackle waste and inefficiency and ensure that all resources are used to maximum effect. Furthermore, when high-level political commitment is present, the support comes, the results follow, and support intensifies.
