7 July 2011 -- Dr Margaret Chan congratulated the health ministers of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) on their growing contribution to global health. She praised their role in international health negotiations that seek a square deal for the developing world, and shared their emphasis on the importance of better access to affordable, high-quality medicines.
